Lil Kim vs. Nicki Minaj | Tale of the Tape

So the Kim v Nicki beef is getting out of hand and we have decided it needs to be settled with a 'slut-off'. We'll add some rap credentials in for good measure. While Nicki Minaj's career thus far seems to be modeled on Kim's somewhat, there are some boobs in videos points worth looking at discussing. This is quite obviously the definitive comparison...

More after the jump....

#1: Holding your own on the mic
These 2 reign supreme when it comes to using sex appeal as a marketing tool, so let's get ability on the mic out the way early so we can get to that good stuff.

KIM: MOBB DEEP'S 'QUIET STORM REMIX'

NICKI: DRAKE'S 'UP ALL NIGHT'

VERDICT:
The Quiet Storm remix and Kim's verse is classic, but Nicki Minaj is by far a better rapper. More charisma, better lines, more subject matter (how long can we listen to raps about dick). Anyone who thinks otherwise is smoking crack.

#2: Lead Solo Single
Both these females launched a solo career off the back of a push from 2 of the greatest rappers alive at the time as well as off the back of larger crew albums (Junior Mafia and Young Money albums). Kim's No Time had Diddy flossing all in the video to get her star weight up, while Nicki Minaj had Sean 'The Pen' Garrett, writer of numerous chart singles, doing his best to hide that head of his

KIM: 'NO TIME' ft DIDDY (1996)

NICKI: 'MASSIVE ATTACK' ft SEAN GARRETT (2010)

VERDICT:
Even though Kim's single charted better, it's all about Nicki Minaj here in the slut stakes. That jungle scene....

#3: Wearing a crazy wig and doing a song with Diddy plus a fat black rapper that Diddy manages:
You sometimes forget how long Diddy has really been around. It's All About the Benjamins with Kim, The Lox and Biggie came out in 1998 and Hello, Good Morning with Minaj, Ross (and T.I) in 2010, not to mention his work on Kim's 1996 debut. He still looks the fuckin same. Must be the Proactive.

KIM: 'IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS' VIDEO

NICKI: 'HELLO, GOOD MORNING REMIX' VIDEO

VERDICT:
Nicki wins the wig and verse battles hands down, but Kim trumps with the outfit. Both beats are ridiculous. TIE

#4: Pop spread
i.e. the strength of their Christina Aguilera collab.

KIM: 'CAN'T HOLD US DOWN'

NICKI: 'WOOHOO'

VERDICT:
Kim. The song is better plus we get to see Aguilera in nothing (again). Having said that, let's reserve final call for the Woohoo video. To tide you over until then, here's Nicki's collab Up Out My Face with Mariah Carey:

#5: rnb guest feature chops
Nicki Minaj is quickly amassing a large r'n'b feature catalogue, while I had to go back to when Ray J was relevant to find something half decent Kim did.

KIM: RAY J'S 'WAIT A MINUTE'

NICKI: USHER'S 'LITTLE FREAK'

VERDICT:
Nicki collaborating with one of the biggest r'n'b artists of all time before she even drops an album and Kim collaborating with Ray J??? Nicki gets the career points, Kim picks up the video ho award.

#6: Hollywood status
Kim wins. See Dancing With The Stars and the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.

3 counts Nicki, 2 for Kim and 1 tie. What it boils down to in the end though is would you rather wake up next to Queen Bee or Barbie?...
